As young students, in high school or college, we have at least 75% of our lives ahead of us, amazing potential, huge numbers, and boundless energy when we apply ourselves to our passions.

There's a great big world out there, and much of it is filled with suffering. Plagues, famines, humanitarian crises, war, natural disasters. And people everywhere, our own age, have none of the future we do. No education, no opportunity, and in many cases they're lucky to even have family, shelter, and food.

What can we do to help? What will it take to bring change to these regions? Proposed agenda:

1. Learn as much as possible about the suffering, and make this information readily available.
2. Establish a Critical Mass of people who are aware of the suffering in the world.
3. Consult the experts to find out what we can do to bring about change.
4. Spread the word to as many people as possible.
5. Make Noise.
6. Do it.
7. Get your friends, neighbors, and your "father's brother's sister's cousin's former roommate" involved, too!

Here's the key realization: We can't do everything. There's a lot of world out there, and it's bigger than any of us. However, we can do something. Every little bit helps, and if we get enough little bits we'll make something huge. A Critical Mass, a tidal wave of compassion, a jihad in its true sense of the word to help the world around us.

Pick a passion. Pick a region. Do what you can to help.

I'm going to use blogger for a short while to pursue this project, but eventually I'll get some real webhosting devoted to this. Look for this blog to be a spot for me to dump links to important articles, quotes from important people, and thoughts from not-so-important me. Of course, if you know of anything that is already trying to do this, let me know.
